The League of Women Voters organized a very successful Mock Presidential Debate on September 26, 2016, just twelve hours before the first actual debate between Sec. Hillary Clinton and Mr. Donald Trump. The Debate was moderated by Ms. Heather Timmons, Senior Asia Correspondent for Atlantic Media’s Quartz (Asia), and Mr. Randal Phillips, Managing Partner for Asia of the Mintz Group. Dr. Tim Gruenewald, Director of HKU’s American Studies Program, acted as Debate administrator, with Ms. Heather Timmons, the Senior Asia Correspondent for Atlantic Media’s Quartz (Hong Kong) and Mr. Randal Phillips, Managing Partner for Asia of the Mintz Group, acting as event Moderators. The Debate took place at the Grand Hall of Hong Kong University’s Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre. Due to the extreme generosity of our Debate sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous, nearly 600 people including many students from both secondary and tertiary institutions were able to attend this event at no charge.
